Defining Risk

Funding cuts and a complex network have created the perfect storm. No wonder defining risk has become business-critical for managers.

A lack of reliable data means decisions have to be based on huge assumptions – this can be problematic and inefficient.

For example, assets just 100 metres apart can have a very different risk profile – different road cambers, local environments and maintenance history.

How do you identify and accurately define risk so it can be acted upon?

Helping you define risk with ease

Demonstrable improvements
As a result of our work with them, the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall Council are now proactively dealing with risk, leading to demonstrable improvements
Seamless data integration
For Surrey County Council, we analysed and seamlessly integrated data from across 6 existing systems to help define risk more accurately and thereby make better decisions
Focused maintenance
Wigan Council were able to identify and attend to only those gullies that need essential maintenance. This in turn has allowed them to re- allocate the funds saved to other areas within the network
Unrivalled mapping
Using a combination of mapping, environmental and maintenance history data, KaarbonTech helped Cumbria County Council identify and profile 10,000 gullies to proactively clean ahead of winter
"Knowing more about our asset allows us to spend the public pound more efficiently."
David Bullock
Oxfordshire County Council
“If there's a better system then I haven’t seen it.”
Mark Harriman
Tarmac, Walsall
“It does what it says on the tin, it’s the best one out there."
Alan Carver
Wigan Council
