Surrey County Council needed to optimise how it filled grit bins so it could be ready for the winter period, mitigate risk and provide a valuable resource to keep the highways running.
KaarbonTech software enabled the Council to accurately monitor the location, filling and usage of grit bins using iOS and Android smart devices.
Surrey County Council adopted the KaarbonTech system in the summer with a countywide inspection of the grit bins stocks being undertaken in August. By winter, Surrey County Council had already achieved a saving of £50,000 before a single flake of snow had fallen.
