Kaarbontech’s Greenspace2025 event concluded on Wednesday, a resounding success.

The event held at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire, welcomed over 100 greenspace professionals and experts, all united by a shared commitment to improving the approach to greenspace management using data to drive service improvements and protect our environment.

The day began with a keynote speech from Tim Rowland-Deverell (Head of Local Highways: Strategy and Environment at the Department for Transport (DfT)), leading with the message that it has never been more important to consider how we manage our greenspace land for the future.

Greenspace2025 had further presentations from Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Green Flag Awards, UK Roads Leadership Group, the Tree Management Research Group, South Gloucestershire Council, Staffordshire County Council and Amey. The event also included collaborative roundtable workshops and a live panel debate. Attendees explored themes including nature recovery, green infrastructure for community spaces, tree risk, and planning for future greenspace resilience.

“It was invigorating to hear from visionaries who are not only identifying and researching the issues, but also driving real-world solutions to ensure our greenspaces evolve and thrive for generations to come” said one attendee.

Greenspace2025 highlighted the opportunity to maximise the use of data to improve service outcomes and reinforced the sector’s ambition to embrace technology.
