Leigh: At KaarbonTech, what I enjoy most is actually getting to meet and talk to various different people from all walks of life.
My name is Leigh Harris and I'm a territory and key account manager at KaarbonTech, and I look after all our accounts and sales opportunities in the South of the country. Before KaarbonTech, I was a salesman, I was selling GPS solutions and mobile mapping and asset management systems.
I think I bring my expertise from all of the previous work that I've done in selling solutions to the markets that I've worked in. I also think I'm very amicable to the customers that I work with. I'm thorough, I try to make sure that they're always a happy customer. That's really important to me.
I think what I bring to KaarbonTech is a wealth of knowledge and experience. I love technology. And as a technology company, I get to play with Macs, I get to play with tablets, apps and all of that customers have said to me in the past that my knowledge really gives them a warm fuzzy feeling because they know that I understand their problems. And I actually know what what I'm talking about. So when they're able to help them overcome maybe their issues.
Outside of KaarbonTech I have a number of hobbies. I started to go to a personal trainer and that personal trainer helped me lose about five stone in weight. So in order to try and keep that weight loss off, now I have to do weights a few times a week. We also a couple of years ago, bought our first ever dog and I love walking him. Obviously, that helps keep my weight off as well.
Something about myself that may surprise people, people is a few years ago, I took the family on holiday to Devon and Cornwall and we spent the day at the Dartmouth Regatta. It was a great day and the highlight was the red arrows being a keen photographer. I took a number of photographs of the day. And a few months later, I was approached by a graphics design company saying they wanted to turn one of the photos of the red arrows into a stamp. And they did that. I managed to sell my photo and it was turned into a first class stamp celebrating 50 years of the RAF.
Oh, if I haven't followed this career path, I have no idea where I'd be. I didn't have any aspirations to be an astronaut or a Fireman at school, so I probably would have just carried on doing something that I probably didn't like. Whereas now I actually do a job that I love
