Alan: The most enjoyable part of my role within KaarbonTech is being able to work with councils and authorities who've got challenges and problems that I know we've got the tools to be able to help them overcome.
I'm Alan Williams and I'm the Key Account and Territory Manager for the North of England and Scotland. Before joining KaarbonTech, I worked for one of our competitors, working on highway maintenance software products, but I've been able to expand on that and do a lot more since joining KaarbonTech.
I think an important trait that I bring to the business is my adaptability and that ability to take on any task or challenge that gets thrown at me. And as a business that's growing, that's really important that you've got staff who can deal with those tasks as they come. The highlight has been the Live Events that we've been doing over the years. As we've grown, those events have just got better and better every time we do them. So I really would urge any of our customers to make the time to be there with us. It's a really good day!
If I was able to achieve one more thing during my time at KaarbonTech, it's been able to introduce new innovations to the business. I'm really interested in what's going to be happening in the next 5 or 10 years. We're at a very exciting time and change with technology and I want to be part of that and, help deliver that for our customers.
So something people might not know about me is that I actually spent a year on a desert island. So this idea of desert island discs, I've been there, I've done it. It was an American military base in the middle of the Indian Ocean, which had all mod cons on it. It was amazing! outside of work I've got a lovely family, we love spending time together. Aside from that, I used to be a scuba diver, which was great when I was in the Navy and traveling around the world, beautiful blue seas, not quite the same in Scotland. So I'm kind of a retired scuba diver is the way I would term myself now. Although I do enjoy winter sports, snowboarding and I enjoy, you know, getting to the mountains whenever I can.
The journey with KaarbonTech has been really interesting when I joined in 2016, there were only three or four other people within the business. So being part of that journey and growing and being able to help customers has been really rewarding.
