Our Vision

We’re on a mission to help communities thrive

Our vision is to help communities thrive, providing our customers with innovative tools to drive future progress. Our people enable us to do that.

We are seeking a commercially capable and structured sales professional to join our Sales Team as a Business Development Executive.

This role manages defined local government sales opportunities from early engagement through procurement to contract award. You will carry personal responsibility for closing new business within agreed revenue targets, ensuring opportunities are progressed professionally, governed properly, and converted predictably.

KaarbonTech is a UK-based infrastructure asset management and data company working with over 70 local authorities across the UK. Through software, data, surveying and advisory services, we help authorities make risk-led, evidence-based decisions about drainage, flood risk and environmental infrastructure. Our sales approach is disciplined, governance-led and built on long-term trust rather than transactional activity.

The successful candidate will enjoy managing structured public-sector sales cycles, handling procurement processes confidently, and taking clear ownership of revenue outcomes. This role is ideal for someone experienced in complex, multi-stakeholder selling who is ready to independently manage defined opportunities while contributing to a predictable and credible sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and manage defined local authority opportunities from early engagement through to contract signature.

  • Qualify, progress and close new business in line with agreed maturity criteria and governance standards.

  • Lead structured commercial conversations, including pricing, procurement navigation and negotiation.

  • Maintain disciplined CRM records and provide realistic, evidence-based forecasts.

  • Coordinate internal resources (technical, delivery, commercial) to support opportunity progression.

  • Contribute to reliable revenue delivery and pipeline predictability.

Skills and Qualities

  • Commercially confident and comfortable managing full public-sector sales cycles.

  • Structured and disciplined in qualification and pipeline management.

  • Strong communicator, able to engage multiple stakeholders within local authorities.

  • Comfortable navigating procurement frameworks and formal evaluation processes.

  • Resilient and focused on credible progression rather than forced activity.

  • Tech-savvy and confident using CRM systems and digital collaboration tools.

Essential & Desirable Experience

  • Proven experience managing and closing B2B or public-sector sales opportunities.

  • Experience selling into local authorities, regulated or multi-stakeholder environments is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with structured sales methodologies (e.g. Miller Heiman or similar).

  • Experience in technology, software, data, or advisory-led organisations is beneficial but not essential.

  • Location: Remote (UK-based), with regular national travel
