Gully cleaning contractor Sapphire Utility Solutions and Balfour Beatty Living Places have been have been using KaarbonTech’s gully software as part on their contract management for over 2 years now in Southampton.
In 2017 Balfour Beatty was awarded a five year Highways Services Partnership contract extension by Southampton City Council following a history of good performance and collaborative working with the local authority. The extension builds on the current 10 year contract which commenced in October 2010, extending it until the end of September 2025.
Since deployment of the gully software, Balfour Beatty have streamlined the cleansing operation through better visibility of contract performance. Gully cleaning and the process for repairing defective gullies has also improved, as this visibility eliminated a large percentage of time previously spent visiting site to assess the next steps.
John Holloway of Balfour Beatty Living Places said “Visualisation of data through the gully software resulted in desktop assessments reducing inspector visits to site from 33% to less than 1% of someone’s time”
