A great press release has been issued by Leeds City Council outlining how they are ahead of their programming schedule for cleaning gullies.
Leeds are using the Kaarbontech Gully SMART system to record all inspections of gullies and importantly when they are cleaned. The system allows the council to fully monitor their teams productivity and ensure all teams are achieving their targets. When the gullies are cleaned, crews record a number of details including silt level, whether the gully is working, stuck lids, etc. This enables the council to fully understand their drainage network and the costs involved in maintaining it. The result of this is an increase in the number of gullies working on the network and this is helping to reduce the flood risk within the city.
The data collected using Gully SMART is then used to monitor the programme and this is shared to members of the public on the council’s website. Data relating to the team’s work can now be seen on a monthly basis on the Leeds City Council website at Leeds Public Gully Programme
