KaarbonTech’s Gully SMART asset management system has been featured in this month’s Highways Magazine.
The article by Chris Ames discusses how highway authorities are under increasing pressure to prevent flooding as our climate changes. One option is to install gully sensors that automatically measure the silt level but trials have found that these sensors still need significant improving to represent a viable option.
While this technology will take some time to develop, systems such as Gully SMART are increasingly being used to monitor drainage systems and allow the effective reporting of different types of issues. The article outlines some of the areas where Gully SMART is being effectively used to reduce costs and improve flood resilience.
