Highway Drainage Surveyor – Barking Area

Ideal summer job for undergraduate/school leavers

This is a temporary contract running initially for 6-8 weeks collecting information about highway drainage in Barking & Dagenham using tablet devices in the field. The work includes attending a specific location, photographing and reporting on the condition of highway drainage.

A candidate with experience of using data collection devices and smart phones would suit this position well. For those without this experience full training will be provided. Mileage expenses or travel costs will be paid where necessary. The candidate should also have a reasonable level of fitness as walking along the highway will be involved. Experience in the drainage industry will be useful but not essential.

Payment will be by hourly rate at £8.50 – £10.50 per hour. Any operational costs incurred as part of this role will also be fully reimbursable. This position is available to start immediately.

Technical Support and Software Tester – Home/office based Bournemouth area

We are recruiting a junior member of staff to support our product testing and technical support. KaarbonTech is a leading UK provider of asset management and surveying software to the Local Authority market. We use smart phone technology, inspection history and geographic surroundings to manage the maintenance of the UK’s highway for customers.

The ideal candidate will be keen to get on in life with a good work ethic and good understanding of technology. Attention to detail and good communication skills are also a must for this position.
